Strictly Come Dancing - Agency Dance Challege Dancer profiles

Nik Vyas

Nik Vyas is Group Press Director at ZenithOptimedia.

He’s had no previous dance or performance training, so yes, he’s feeling a little nervous about the competition. But Nik says he’s a great believer in pushing himself to do things he really doesn’t want to do.

''If I make a complete twat of myself in the process, I really don’t mind,'' he says. What a good sport. His biggest fear, he adds, is ''getting stage fright, forgetting my moves and having to freestyle – ie. making a complete twat of myself.''

Nik describes his dancing style as bad, ''but I’m ok after I’ve had a few sherbets.'' His ideal dance partner, dead or alive, would be Bob Marley.

Sophie Hunt

Sophie Hunt is feeling more than a little scared about the event, but the BBC Youth and Children’s Display Sales Executive is doing this for her parents.

She admits she used to drive them mad when she was younger, making them take her to dancing lessons, and now she wants to let them know it wasn’t all done in vain and that she appreciates all they did for her. Aaah.

She’s planning on soothing her nerves with a very large glass (or two) of champagne about 30 minutes before the competition starts so you may see her wobbling her away across the dance floor, but if the teachers get their way, she’ll be moving her hips in ways she never knew were possible without breaking them!
